GitHub Issues:
- Support for video embeds #709.
- Support HTML tags in markdown #498 -> Closed Issue that talks something that could work.
Conclusions:
- YT/Piped links don’t work.
- Embed links don’t work.
- FIle links work, both player and download links.
I think it’s because Lemmy can only source files, so the link has to be to a file. IDK how YT and Piped work, but the link must be some sort of address that the server looks up to actually fetch the file itself, but it doesn’t provide a link for the file.
Markdown should support video embed though, so I assume this can be implemented.
I tried to find such a file here but it seems it’s not working :
