Colorado gun stores say they may be forced to shutter should Democrats in the legislature this year pass a ban on the manufacture, sale and purchase of semiautomatic firearms with detachable ammunition magazines.

Senate Bill 3 would make a large portion of the merchandise at Colorado gun stores illegal to sell overnight, hitting their bottom lines but also presenting safety and liability issues.

    Not that I think that’s altogether a bad thing… but are they doing anything to curb the underlying issues, or just banning scary gun-machines and hoping something good comes of it?

      Those kinds of guns are the bread and butter of gun stores. Gun fetishists buy those guns all the time. No sales means gun stores close.

          If you read the article you would know that the law only applies to rifles and shotguns. I would expect that it calls out specific “handguns” like short barreled ar-15s
