Peewee’s playhouse was ahead of its time. Wholesome, wacky, and inclusive. I recently watched one of the playhouse specials over the holidays and it was just as good as I remembered it being as a kid.

Conservatives had it out for him and really prevented a quality content creator from bringing joy and entertainment to a lot of families.

If you have kids I suggest watching a few episodes as a family.

“Take the blue pill, you wake up, as if this was all a dream. Take the red pill and you see how deep the playhouse goes.”

And Phil Hartman was Captain Carl. Hartman and Reubens were in The Groundlings together.

Similar oddity like that- Michael Keaton was a crewmember on Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood.

And Fred Rogers, ever Fred Rogers, had nothing but nice things to say about him and his later career.

The guy next to Mister Rogers looks really familiar too.

I remember watching a few of the first episodes with my youngest and was happy to see that he enjoyed the insane wackyness of it all. I’m sure he would have enjoyed watching more of the silliness, but my partner wasn’t going to have it. There’s a lot of battles I have to fight pretty regularly, and this show was just not one of them. But… it was good to see my youngest enjoying an old show that was a part of my life back then.

Have to be honest though, Randy the bully really bothered me then and still bothers me now. Bullies suck, regardless of their form.
