Summary

Vice President JD Vance claimed that Donald Trump’s policies will lower grocery prices, but he failed to provide details.

Instead, Vance emphasized vague goals like increasing capital investment and job creation.

Meanwhile, Trump’s recent tariff threats, including a 25% increase on Colombian coffee imports, have driven coffee prices higher, exacerbating grocery costs.

Critics note Trump’s shifting narrative, as he now admits it is “hard to bring things down once they’re up.”

Supporters, however, downplayed price hikes, suggesting cheaper alternatives like instant coffee.

How does it differ from democrats’ plan to lower food prices?

Well for a start Democrats weren’t planning to turbocharge inflation by putting tariffs on everything. So already their plan was better.

Harris’ plan was to ban price gourging which would put a cap on the price.

Trump doesn’t have a plan to lower food prices.

      That’s the difference.

Here’s the thing… As wishful thinking as this sounds… You and I both know this would have instantly been appealed by every major food manufacturer in the entire country and the SCOTUS would overturn it because it defeats the “free enterprise ideals” of capitalism.

Step 0. Inflation came back down to almost normal. Prices should no longer be increasing ass quickly

      Step 1. Stabilize trade

      Step ?: investigate price gouging

Step ?: explain the temporary impact of avian flu on poultry related products

Your increase in suffering has slowed. Why aren’t you happy?

So, even if you stop there and ignore everything else:

          • do you vote for “your increase in suffering has slowed” or “these policies will speed up your increase in suffering”?
          • or are they both the same?

I voted for Harris. Her messaging was still dogshit on this issue. She was acting like the problem was fixed when it wasn’t.

So, let me explain something to you as I’ve seen you accuse people of this a lot and I think maybe you’re having a little trouble understanding how things work:

If someone interacts with you in the comments of a post, and then respond to you in that same post later or… even in a different comment section in a different post altogether….

That’s not stalking. That’s just interacting with people in a social media setting. And considering how often you post your rage-induced genocide accusations, if we go by your interpretation of the word, you’d have to pretty much accuse the entirely of lemmy of stalking.
