Yes, I’m on my second week of sick leave in Germany, struggling to get rid of some virus & laryngitis that I got on a work trip, so now I have to rest and not speak at all.
Currently playing TLOU on my PS Portal. It feels “wrong”, but then I realize I’d rather be healthy and back to work (and also do more productive personal things that I can’t now, like go to the gym).
I forgot Sony made that. Why not get a Steam Deck, or one of the alternatives? The portal doesn’t have any storage, and if you have stick drift you have to buy another.
But isn’t just cloud gaming? Which needs a solid connection… Unlike every other handheld system, that has the games on storage, or cartridge? I don’t understand cloud gaming.
If you’re living in a home with modern wi-fi and fiber Internet, the latency isn’t much worse than a typical 4K TV outside of its built-in game mode. For many, many titles on console, this type of input lag is acceptable.
Admittedly I know the product isn’t very popular, but for those who enjoy PS games, it’s a pretty neat device.
Personally I just keep stuff on my PS5 and if I can’t be in my living room I guess I’ll wait to play :-)
Yep, and that works for some folks. For me, I prefer to keep my games and my PC separate where applicable (Obviously except specific titles that are simply better with a keyboard) and I like to enjoy my fancy surround sound system and big TV for gaming experiences on the console. Sure the graphics aren’t as good and there isn’t much in the way of modding, but that’s okay for the way I consume games. There’s also the appeal of just loving a certain console’s library
I know someone who actually hooked his computer to a massive tv monitor, plays video games on it, and watches movies from the same computer.
Also, does PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox charge for online? Consoles would be cool if they didn’t charge for online, and had a web browser, and basically the functionality of a computer.

Consoles are better at the job of being an easy, affordable, simple-to-use solution that just works. They have physical media (at least the PS5 does) for releases that can still be traded and it’s just simple.
I don’t want to have to deal with Linux or Windows when I’m trying to play a racing game with my friends in the living room. I don’t want to have to fight with bluetooth for the controllers or anything like that. You can do whatever you want with PC, yes, and consoles are little more than PCs with special software (PS5 uses some sort of BSD fork, Nintendo uses Android lately, and Xbox is using something Windows-based) but it’s the curated simple easy-to-use experience that I’m after.
When I’m playing RTS or MMO games I’m using PC, for sure. But for everything else if I can’t enjoy it on PS5 then I need a different hobby.

I would assume it’s because they would like to play PlayStation games, not PC games.

Ok, that makes sense. I just own only a PC which has everything I need, no tv. The only thing I would love to have is a steam deck.

PC’s can be plugged into tv montiors. There is emulators, controllers, like you said modding. Then you can sync with steam deck and play on the go.
