They are really fascinating! I volunteer at a raptor rescue so I have seen several different ones there but in the wild only barred owls and now a barn owl.

I was just wondering how your volunteering was going!

I am also trying to volunteer at my local rescue this year. They take care of most animals, and I have seen owls there before as well.

It’s going pretty well. Unfortunately they end up cancelling a lot of the volunteer days that I can make it to. I’ve mostly been cleaning and mending some fencing. Hopefully I can make it to one of the days where I where they teach us how to handle the birds.

Good, I’m glad you’ve been doing it and it sounds like you’re enjoying what you do get to participate in.

The place I’m looking to get into has the volunteers from April through October but you have to pick a regular shift. The one I want sounded to have a decent number of openings. The boss lady said baby squirrel season is first and there’s up to 100 baby squirrels that need feeding every 2 hours, so I should at least get to handle some animals.
