    It’s funny that you write this because my initial reaction was and is the exact opposite: The categories should be something that cover what most dogs are, so that the children can actually circle one that really fits.

    Hero? Which dogs would actually be considered heroes? Maybe one that saves a child from a burning building or something, but that’s basically nothing anyone can really circle.
    Companion? That’s okay I guess, most dogs are companions (but not all)
    Worker? Which dog is a worker? Maybe a police dog or something, but almost no normal pet dog people have.

    So you can basically only circle companion, and what about dogs whose personalities don’t fit? I think the categories should be more realistic so that children aren’t disappointed nothing really fits or that their dog wouldn’t be as “good” as someone else’s.

      This is homework designed for someone in like preschool to 2nd grade age range. I wouldn’t put it past those kids to circle hero because “they make me happy” or worker because “they help my parent with…” Or what have you
