From Kathy Penner

Deep in thought or just an itchy moment? This Great Grey Owl, surrounded by a fresh winter wonderland, seems to be pondering the arrival of spring.

i forgot to try and see it when i was on the pc lol, but it worked now. also, thanks for going so far just to share a video! i have seen some people use catbox.moe, and it seems to be pretty good (i just tested it and it seems to not even need an account!)

i can’t speak for everyone in this community, but i love to see bird facts, such as the one you just mentioned about them not being able to burp or fart (i do feel like i’ve already been told that but i might just be having some deja vu), i love learning about birds! i actually considered becoming a paleontologist because i wanted to know more about birds and other closely related animals (mostly non-avian dinosaurs, but i also find interesting the pterosaurs and whatever the group including plesiosaurs is called) though i then decided to learn geology instead, since i believe it fits me better.

also even if someone is joking about something, it’s good to say what’s really happening because they (or others) might actually be interested in knowing that!

you’re doing fine as a host. this is one of my favorite communities on lemmy, mostly because i can see cute and/or funny owls with my girlfriend (owls are one her favorite types of birds, if not the favorite!), but also because we can learn some interesting stuff about them :D

speaking of this, i remember that one post about how an owl’s ear looks like, with part of the eye being visible in the ear. it looks cool, and if i remember correctly i spent quite a while reading as much as i could there

    oh i wrote a lot, sorry :D

This question was pretty hard to answer without a video, so I had to figure it out. Everyone here is pretty anti-Facebook, so I pull things off of there to take the privacy hit for everyone else. 😇

You guys really are a great group of people. I’m typically not very confident internally, but you all make me feel comfortable being more of the real me. You seem to recall a lot of great things we’ve looked at here, so I’m glad it’s been sticking with you. You seem to like all animals from the ancient to the present just like I do.

I always try to show my appreciation for all of you, and I hope it comes across sincerely, because I really value the time I get to spend with you all. Always feel free to write as much as you want. I enjoy all you guys share.
