Summary

Donald Trump angered Christian MAGA supporters by appointing televangelist Paula White-Cain to lead his newly established White House Faith Office.

White-Cain, a proponent of prosperity theology, is viewed by many evangelicals as a “heretic” who exploits faith for profit. Prosperity theology believes that God rewards the truly faithful with material wealth and personal success.

Conservative Christians condemned the move, calling it Trump’s “worst decision,” citing her controversial teachings and personal scandals.

White-Cain, a longtime Trump ally, previously advised his administration and led prayers contesting the 2020 election results.

Is that enough for conservative Christians to stop supporting him though? Or is it all just hubris?

The conservative Christians i know are already pulling back from him, but only in a “he’s a bad person but he’s helping us on some issues”, which is quite different from what they were saying before the election.

Funny that THIS makes him a bad person, but being an adulterer and rapist was just fine by them.

Eh, I don’t think it’s specifically related to this story. But I do agree that it’s concerning that they were totally fine with it before the election.

Also, Trump has been a vocal proponent of prosperity gospel whenever he’s gone into any detail about his relationship to Christianity. That’s not something new either.

As long as she looks like a FOX News hostess that they not-so-secretly want as their bang-maid: No.
