Was able to get the binoculars hooked up to my phone before it took off. Nice natural lighting, and I’m getting better at balancing the phones focus and the binoculars. Didn’t have to doctor this one much, just a tweak of added sharpness and a little warmer on the lighting. Really happy with this one!
I’ve got a clamp mount. It works pretty well as long as I don’t bump the phone too hard and misalign the camera lens from the hole in the mount. I brace my elbows on my chest to steady my hands, but the live photos or whatever that feature is called where you can grab a single frame from a series of shots is a big helper!
I think I have some thinking to do. With all the crap I have, surely I have something I can rig together. Thanks!
Rubber Band Method
I still haven’t gotten myself a mount yet. Boo. But now that I saw your little rubber band hack, I want to go run off and try that in the meantime!
The rubber band trick should at least let you know if it’s worth getting a mount or not for you. You can get an idea of how cumbersome it is and if the photo quality is what you’re looking for, etc
This one looks the closest to what came with my binocs.
I think this one may be an upgrade as it looks a bit studier and quick to put on and take off.
Thanks for sharing. It definitely looks worth a try.
Re: the rubber band trick, it’s way off-center and cumbersome. Boo. I also have like the heaviest phone on Earth which probably doesn’t help. I’m going to look up to see if there’s anything like that for the specific model binoculars I have.
Oh boo. At least you gave it a shot.
