    If I remember correctly he didn’t even try to fight it and just offed himself. Also his charges weren’t piracy it was breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony.

    According to authorities, Swartz downloaded the documents through a laptop connected to a networking switch in a controlled-access wiring closet at MIT.

    35 years was the maximum he could have gotten but he likely would have been imprisoned for a few years at most. His defence actually opted for only 6 months in a rejected plea deal.

      Doesn’t matter. The case is a massive example of prosecutorial power overreach.

        Sure, yes, but you can say that honestly without lying about a nonexistent 35 or 50 year sentence.

            The picture you posted claims he faced 35 years. He was never sentenced, he committed suicide in his apartment before his trial took place.
