Reps. Judy Chu (D-CA) and Gwen Moore (D-WI) sent a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), urging him to follow through on an “in-person commitment” to hold a hearing on Elon Musk’s DOGE and its access to Treasury’s payment system.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent insists the access is “read-only,” but reports suggest Musk’s team has altered code.

Johnson has not publicly confirmed the hearing, and Democrats, in the GOP-controlled House, lack subpoena power to compel testimony from Musk or Bessent.
