Good. It was a terrible port (I don’t think it’s earned being called a remaster) that sucked compared to the original from 22 years ago.

Sucks for those who paid for it though.

The company says that if you made in-app purchases in January 2024 or later, you’re eligible to request a refund by contacting Apple Support.

Any purchases in the last year will be refunded. They haven’t just abandoned them.

Yes but they’re hoping a percentage of people don’t go looking for news that their game has been removed and they need to take action to get a refund.

They remove it from the store automatically, but don’t refund automatically.

Though I bet there may be an argument that the payment platform being Apple means it’s opaque to square, it’s still always customers losing. Even if it’s just a percentage.

How could they refund automatically? Credit card info changes, lots of one time cards. People are happy with their purchase and have already moved on. I don’t get a refund on a book just because I’m done reading it and it gets pulled. The same expectation to be applied with a paintbrush is just silly.

If you’re active in the game, which would be the people that this affected, you would know about it.

It was so disappointing, it would have been so easy to make it work with couch co-op and online multiplayer with just a little bit more effort. I was so excited when it was first announced, and then I don’t think I played it beyond the first day it released after trying online play with my brother.

The original was a masterpiece of couch co-op, but it’s increasingly difficult and expensive to play it on original hardware anymore. Fortunately you can get away with connecting multiple instances of m-gba and dolphin to recreate the experience on emulator for couch co-op at least.
