A sixth grade girl took her life after classmates bullied her over her family's immigration status and threatened to contact ICE to deport her parents.
I hope those who bullied her are left haunted by their actions for the rest of their lives. I hope those parents who raised those bullies get some kind of justice served, but I’m not holding my breath.
It all feels so hopeless to feel anger towards these people, but I can’t help it. I hope they have long, pitiful lives filled to the absolute brim with misery.
Minors generally don’t have any personal political compass, especially that young. Kids just fucking suck and put each other down as a matter of recourse. Probably something about seeking worth and belonging in their most vulnerable and formative years.
The racism is just a convenient vehicle for this. Maybe learned from their parents, increasingly common they learned it from the internet and other kids.
