22 rounds are really good for headshots, because they don’t have enough energy to go all the way through both sides of the skull. The bullet just bounces around inside the head.

My bad. The more I thought of it, I think I was thinking of the .308 or the .30-06.

He has also got an ancient double barrel shot gun from the 1920s.

There are a ton of videos out there like that. It’s %100 a myth from anti-2a idiots and FUDDs who think they know firearms. 22lr has very little energy vs pretty much anything else, no way it or any other round is “bouncing around” it’s basic physics to know this.

Still, it’s interesting to see that the rounds didn’t penetrate the back of the skull. Even if it didn’t “bounce around,” I’d bet that the bullet was more likely to tumble through the tissue. Plus, hot bullet in your skull as a treat.

It’s a small round with soft lead, it’s not going to do much other than create a wound channel and stop at bone. It really is an anemic round. It’s why it’s only good for small game as a humane round. Anything else and it’s likely to wound the animal.

Yeah I’m trying to figure out what rifle old boy mistakenly thought was a 22? .243 or .270 perhaps?
