Processing about 2.4kg of fresh frozen cannabis.

My technique definitely needs to be improved, but that’s why we do this stuff and learn right?

I’m washing it 4 batches of 600g each. Next time I’ll probably make them smaller still.

I also feel like I am adding too much ice, even though I add less each time… the stuff frosts up and I’m sure it’s not getting the stuff in between the denser buds.

Even though, the returns are decent I would say, and I’m saving the washed bud for edibles, so nothings wasted. I’ll dial in the technique for next run. I collect the trichomes from the 25 and 74 micron bags, I’ll keep them separated and from there I’ll press it into hash rosin.

Is there a reason you’re doing a wet wash vs dry ice? I’ve never done a water wash before, it always seemed unnecessarily messy and I’ve never been confident about freeze drying without a proper freezer dryer.

I did a bit of research before buying my hashi-washi (Bubbleator machine) and I was very intrigued. But it looks…unsafe? I don’t want to handle my weed with protective gloves and googles. Washing is messy and the cleaning sucks. But I kind of want to keep my fingers.

Ahh, I already work in a lab setting. I guess I forget people can be uncomfortable around something like dry ice. Fair point.

      Ignorance?

Ive been following a few guides to make “live rosin” carts, which from my (ignorant, not a lot of information is easily available on this wonderful plant) googling has come up with bubble hash, to hash rosin to live rosin carts. Seems to be the cleanest way to get something to be able to put in cart and vape.

Trying to avoid chemicals as much as possible, so BHO and stuff is right out, don’t know how dry ice weighs in.

Dry ice is just carbon dioxide compressed from gas to a solid. So when it evaporates it just transfers directly to a gas, leaving no residue. It is usually a lot cleaner and has a higher yield than bubble hash.

I would suggest looking up dry ice hash, it’s a lot less labor intensive and imo tastes better. Basically the hardest thing about it is finding the dry ice if you’re in a rural area.

I’ll look into it, but idk how the wife would feel about risk with that. I went with this route since it’s less labor intensive than other routes. Yes I know I’m paying a premium otherwise, but health factors playing as well.

Haha, yeah I guess dry ice has a bit more of a safety factor than just plain cold water. But it really isn’t all that dangerous with some basic precautions.
