While I get the last decade or so has seen a lot of words used in hyperbolic ways that cheapens their meaning; but are you suggesting that Trump and Musk are not Fascist or at the very least desire to be?
No. They are clearly fascists. Trump and the Trumpers have been calling everyone and everything they don’t like fascists to dilute the meaning of the word.
Phew! We can all relax! What you omit to mention is that it’s mainly the left and progressives who have cheapened the definition of this word. For almost a century now, as indicated by the famous Orwell quote from the
1930s1940s.And now that that’s done, they’ve set about cheapening the word “Nazi” so that soon it will be almost meaningless too.
PS: the Orwell quote: “The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies ‘something not desirable’”. Written in 1946.
