Pocket knife under the edge and bend it up just a tiny bit so I can get my finger under the edge without bending a nail trying to pull it up.
If I don’t have my knife on me for some reason any length of thin metal will really work. I have used keys, spoons, scissors, meat thermometers, a single loop from a whisk and probably more I’m forgetting.
