I know that people think I’m insane and that’s OK but flu shots help prevent the same sort of illness that killed millions back in 1917 till about 1920.
I used to think getting the flu shot was pointless and got at least a little sick every year. Then I started preaching about how we have to get the covid shot and felt like a hypocrite so I started getting the flu shot with my covid booster every year. I haven’t gotten sick since. It works and it’s so easy to get! For now…
The “flu shot” tends to be variable in it’s effectiveness from year to year. It’s a guessing game the CDC play with those virii. They are/were trying to guess what the vaccine needs to be months in advance. This year it seems they missed a bit and it didn’t work quite as well.
The future seems bleak on having those shots available for the foreseeable future.
This is the first year in many that I actually got the flu, and it sucked. Yearly shots and all, this is just a rough year, and of course it’s the year that we abandon it all.
Flu shot this year seems super ineffective… Got the shot, got the flu, my wife got some other virus, I got over the flu then got her virus, got over that and got the flu AGAIN.
I’ve basically been sick for a month. Crawled into a NyQuil bottle for quite a bit of that.
Well, I’ve been insane for all sorts or reasons, I thought iPods would never sell, and that if they followed the first books, “Harry Potter” would be a cinema flop.

There are multiple strains every year, the shot has a mix of the most prevalent ones, you could have caught a rarer strain.
You can feel special, you got the rare shiny variant of the flu!
Or, alternately, the shot just isn’t effective this year. It happens. We won’t know until the season is over.

lol wow. I’m gonna have to plan a trip north of the border to get my fucking flu vaccine? Holy shit.
Edit: not sarcastic. I would do that, particularly in the context of “the entire country isn’t vaccinated”
By that time, will we even be welcomed, or even allowed, to cross any borders? Not by our own government, but others.
But also, maybe by our own government too.
Makes me sad that anyone would call you insane for typing this comment.
