As midnight approached, the snowstorm whirled outside my window, each tiny flake like a microscopic diamond. Suddenly, a familiar silhouette caught my eye…
And then, there it was-a little feathered catlike shape perched delicately on the power line. My heart raced. Was it truly what I thought? With a closer squint, I recognized the small yet unmistakable form of a screech owl, its feathers now adorned with a dusting of snow that sparkled under the faint street light.
But just as I pressed the shutter the wind whisked the little owl away, leaving only the whisper of its presence behind.
