As the UK marks the fifth anniversary of the COVID-19 outbreak, and significant portion of the population solemnly reflects on lost loved ones, a much louder, considerably dimmer contingent has seized the moment to once again declare the entire thing a hoax.
A surprisingly number of below average intelligence citizens appear to blissfully ignorant of the more than 200,000 UK deaths, as well as the rather inconvenient fact that they saw hospitals overflowing with their own eyes.
“It’s all just a big scam, mate,” confirmed Simon Williams, 47, an unemployed YouTube researcher from Essex who once failed a GCSE science exam, but now considers himself deeply informed on virology.
…ugh. I want to yell at you for saying that, but I’m not mad at you. I’m mad that you’re right. I’m mad that THIS is where we are as a species. We just went through a global pandemic, where considerable populations have died. No matter what country you’re in, you’re in an area where large number of people died.
And yet…we still live in a world filled with covid deniers. Which is more than I can say for the millions who died from covid. They can’t talk about how deadly it was. They can’t confirm how real covid is.
You know…because they died from covid. This is the world we live in, and it makes me angry.
