    I really see this as just further padding their numbers in advance of IPO. Your engagement is actively being wrapped up into reports that are showing investors “look, we’re as healthy as ever, look at our MAUs, look at how long users stay on the site!

    I understand the motivation, but they won’t allow materially impactful advertising of Lemmy in /r/place. So now you’re padding their numbers AND it’s for naught.

      There is just not enough people on lemmy yet to move their traffic significantly
