Technically they could be in jail and unable to vote becsuse of a prior felony conviction for those states that take away voting rights.
Taking voting rights from anyone, including the worst felons, is absolutely against the core idea of democracy and should not be allowed. Haha well yes anyone in any situation could coincidentally already have had their right to vote taken away for an unrelated reason.
Definitely agree that taking away the right to vote is not an appropriate punishment.
