It’s more a case of time and place, I don’t want porn when I’m browsing the news, and vice versa.

then literally just don’t check the “show nsfw” content when you sign up. I beg of you just to open your settings a single time and see what’s there, it’s not complicated.

There are some NSFW posts that I do want to see though, mostly involving Russian soldiers having things dropped on them from a drone.

The porn just clutters up the feed.

Yeah, this seems like a really opportune time to finally make differentiation between porn/nudity and gore/violence when it comes to tags. Be it NSFW vs NSFL or whatever. Reddit should have addit it a long time ago. Lemmy should try to.

That is a good suggestion actually.

Personally, I’d rather have a separate account for smut, but I’m happy to just block NSFW instances on my main account.

That’s weird as hell but Lemmy should soon implement the block domain feature so you can block them yourself while keeping nsfw from other domains enabled. I don’t get it but u do u.

Maintaining separate accounts is even easier, I’ve got accounts for the different ways I want to pass the time on the internet, and when I’m in the mood I use my lemmynsfw account.
