When someone in an abusive relationship doesn’t get the right support it’s quite common to just settle down, get that kid or a second kid, move along, even if all accusations were true. It’s a dark, dark path. The fact they are still together doesn’t prove shit.

I’m gonna be gutted if he somehow represents us again and it’s gonna backfire so hard in more than one way. Just dump him in the trash and move along.
