Rogan promoted the conspiracy theory that Epps was an “agent provocateur” for the feds, a baseless claim that has led to a defamation suit against Fox News.

I never listened to Joe Rogan, is his right wing leanings a newer development? Or has he always been in the “free thinker”, ie conservative camp? I saw a snippet of his show years ago, and it didn’t come across as politically charged, but it was a small snippet, and times have definitely changed, polarity wise.

Much like many self-identifying “centrists” he certainly likes to hang out with right-wing individuals and let them talk. He does sometimes push back, but his podcast does better when he doesn’t.

He is very right leaning, but interestingly, when he last had Bernie Sanders on, he claimed to be progressive.

Like all humans, he is complicated and doesn’t hold beliefs strictly to one side. He makes his money catering to the right, his personal views have likely shifted that way over time to match.

In the past, he had more interesting and varied guests, but those days are long gone.

I thought he was a libertarian, maybe? I used to listen to the podcast years ago but I feel like it got more political, he leaned more right, got more popular, repeat, until it was the number 1 podcast but idk

He had the number 1 podcast already when he has Bernie on and semi-endorsed him.

Covid seems to be what really broke his brain and pulled him right hard.
