It was nice to see these two sitting together this morning. He must have had another bath as he looked a little damp, but he does love a bath. I’ve noticed some changes in the behaviour of these two over the last couple of weeks, since the old male (20 years old) passed away last month. The younger male has been seen sitting in the entrance to the nestbox that the old fella used to favour. I also noticed a lot of noise from these two in the background of the trail cam video clips of the wild Barn Owls earlier this week. Are they courting? I’ve put the second trail camera on their aviary tonight to see if it picks up any interesting behaviour. 🤓

I think this is the Scottish Owl Centre, which is up for sale as the owners are retiring. If anyone can get to the Glasgow area, I’d encourage you to go. They have almost 150 owls from 50 species, including White Face, Spectacled, and many more things that would be hard to find anywhere, let alone a single place.
