Meta/twitter style social media is much more tied to the individual, it’s more psychologically impactful to someone if something intrinsic to themselves is criticised
Reddit/Lemmy style social media is kinda detached from the poster in most cases, it’s about the content. It’s much less psychologically impactful if people react negatively to something that’s nothing to do with you beyond being the messenger.
