Now I can say that today I got lucky !!! I was about to give up and head home after 5pm when I spotted her perched on a hydro pole
I literally said, “Oh No, another hydro pole”
I pulled over at a safe distance and watched her for a bit. Suddenly, she started moving her head in circles, scanning everything around her.
That’s when I knew something was about to happen. Then she flew right in front of me and headed toward the cornfield on the left. With the light dropping fast, I quickly adjusted my settings and managed to get a still shot as she landed. She missed the catch, flew a few meters closer, and that’s when I got these pretty cool shots.
Shutter at 1/50s, ISO 4000, at 5:15 pm
Shooting with those settings isn’t easy …
But it sure is fun
