It was a joke about we how Americans will use any measurement except the metric system. I’m sorry.

Also this never fails to make me smile.

“In metric, one milliliter of water occupies one cubic centimeter, weighs one gram, and requires one calorie of energy to heat up by one degree centigrade—which is 1 percent of the difference between its freezing point and its boiling point. An amount of hydrogen weighing the same amount has exactly one mole of atoms in it. Whereas in the American system, the answer to ‘How much energy does it take to boil a room-temperature gallon of water?’ is ‘Go fuck yourself,’ because you can’t directly relate any of those quantities” – Josh Bazell

Football fields are actually a very popular measurement type in Germany.

There isn’t a fixed length for our football fields. Weird, right?

At least the Americans know how large their football fields are.

Yes, yes… The imperial system is sub-par. I’m so bored by this argument.

What exactly do you want us to do about it? We’re having a hard enough time keeping domestic terrorists out of our local and federal governments. Things aren’t great here, friend… We’ve got bigger fish to fry than worrying about units of measurement.

I agree. The imperial system is sub-par, but it’s understandable to be tired of this ongoing argument. There are indeed bigger priorities to address than debating units of measurement.

I was just making a joke on a joke post. I meant no harm.
