Since I’ve been photographing owls, I’ve never experienced this before! When I came upon this Eastern Screech-Owl, it was actively hunting in the middle of the day-something these owls don’t typically do. This little guy had a mouse in its sights, and shortly after locking in, it burst out of the cavity. Sure enough, it caught the mouse!

I’m curious to see if there’s any future updates on if this owl continues this, or if this was a random “fourth meal” moment.
