In hindsight a smaller canvas might have made it a bit busier, but I’ll tell you what: I’m impressed the effort has been translated over from rPlace. Run this one again in a year or so and I can imagine it being way more popular.
Yeah, I’m seeing a lot of white. r/place loses all the white within minutes
It’s not like Reddit has over 1000x more users than Lemmy or anything
Well, that’s their point. With a smaller population we want a smaller canvas.
Hence why Lemmy should have a smaller canvas
Its mostly the bots that ruined place.

I thought that was disabled this time around, but I haven’t participated myself.
I do plan on running one next year, possibly with a smaller canvas
but with the amount of people interested after the event concluded, we might stick with the same size for next year, but who knows right now 😉
