    Most Linux distros recommend (not minimum) 4GB of RAM on their system requirements pages. I’m running Debian on a laptop with 4GB and it’s perfectly usable. You might want to try a different distro if it’s struggling with 6GB.

      IMO, you can totally run a Linux desktop on 4 GB RAM, but a webbrowser on top of any OS? That’s going to become a pain in the ass.

      I run Debian 12 with Gnome. The main issue is running VSCode and Firefox, for web development. I am transitioning to Zed, which seems to be lighter.
