I’d buy that in some cases, there might be common elements causing it, but I don’t think that it’d need to be a common hallucinogen. Off-the-cuff, some examples: Dragons “Hybrid” animals that are a conglomeration of different animals. Ghosts Mermaids. House spirits Sun gods
