OpenAI’s money for Nvidia GPUs was given to them by Nvidia, because no one can afford to by that quantity of Nvidia GPUs…
It’s all a house of cards, when openai goes under, it’s gonna take Nvidia with them because there’s well over 100 billion being cycled and borrowed against.
If/when that collateral gets called in anywhere, it’s going to make it get called in everywhere because it’ll crash the value.
They’re planning on spending 1.4 trillion on data centers filled with equipment they can’t afford in the next few years…
Remember that all these data centers are being built for Blackwell GPU’s. The Vera Ruben, the next generation of processor from nvidia, does not use the same racking and has different requirements.
So by the first time a data center has been finished, it will already be outdated.
