Sadly these kinds of people don’t go down alone, they take countless others down with them. Children without consent from their parents being the largest demographic impacted. It’s fucking disgusting and should be considered child abuse not getting them vaccinated.

Children without consent from their parents being the largest demographic impacted.

In my experience, it isn’t parental consent that’s the limiting factor. It’s public provision.

Parents will, for the most part, do what they’re told is best for their kids. If you offer vaccines with the promise that they’ll reduce illness and improve the kids’ lives, they’ll see that their kids vaccinated. But if you gut funding to CDC, CMS, and NIH, you never get any vaccines to begin with. If you underinvest in the infrastructure that makes the formula, there’s nothing to dole out.

Factory’s loss of licence halves supply of flu vaccine to US

The agency revoked the manufacturing licence of Chiron Corporation’s factory for three months pending further investigation, after an inspection of the plant raised concerns over possible contamination. The agency gave no details, but in August Chiron acknowledged that some four million doses of its Fluvirin flu vaccine were potentially contaminated with Serratia marcescens , a bacterium linked to infections caught through dialysis and pneumonia.

At the time the company warned of possible delays in replacing some faulty batches but said it intended to meet its commitments. Now the company’s entire supply has been cut off, leaving US federal health agencies 48 million doses short of the 100 million doses they planned to distribute this year.

This is what’s caused a record high rate of flu deaths in the United States. Not some random pastor spouting bullshit.

Vaccines aren’t perfect immunity for everyone. It’s herd immunity. You could have been vaccinated and still get it because it’s only 99% effective. Children can’t get it until they are 2 months old. There are thousands of kids with medical conditions that made them unable to be vaccinated.

On the other hand I would’t protest if the newborn grandchildren of that doctor were exposed to polio in front of him. Conservatives are incapable of empathy. It must affect them personally.

Although there was a family in Texas where the child died and the mom still said she made the right choice to not vaccinate.

This was already the status quo system.

The new system is to dismantle our institutional structures so that vaccine development and medical provision is denied to everyone, because a few powerful people don’t want to hear anyone in the medical community contradict their orthodoxy.

If they perish, so be it.

The aristocracy are always the last to suffer.

There’s no billionaires if there’s no day laborers.

          There’s always day laborers.

If you want to change the system, it needs to burn.

Lighting the house on fire seems fun from the outside looking in. Less fun from the inside looking out. Quite a few people rely on the US socio-economic system. And not just a handful of plutocrats, either (although look what the Medicaid cuts just did to a swath of health insurance companies - someone just got booted from the three-commas club over this).

One side wins, does amazing things for society. Then the other side wins and breaks everything.

I mean, you’ve got to squeeze your eyes really tight to believe all this started January 6th of last year. What’s been happening in Afghanistan for the last 25 years broke society in ways no single “side” can divest themselves of responsibility over. You’re talking about an engine for… where do I even start? The heroin epidemic. An endless parade of military aged males coming back to the imperial core to wage war from within. The bloated military industrial state, the Long War On Terror, and its surveillance state excesses that have shown up all over the tech sector and given birth to the modern AI bubble.

The entire American establishment has been feeding from this trough.

I mostly agree, but losing herd immunity would be devastating for infants and the immunocompromised.

I believe South Carolina is starting to deal with this now. ~95% needed for heard immunity. They fell to 91% with areas with much lower vaccination rates. And something like 900 measles cases at the moment.

They need spring to come quickly.
