    Not a huge fan of India and their current government, but if we don’t work together then they’ll work with China or Russia instead

      At this point, we are out of good options to ensure the trade we need, so we also need the hedge our bets. It’s not like the US is objectively better morally than India and it’s proven less reliable.

      Not even instead. Maybe they won’t need to rely that heavily on that axis, but this should be mutually beneficial.

      I think we’re all sceptic of Modi et al, but we only have a semblance of power over our own governing bodies.

      I’m not sure Europe is equipped with that kind of power. Modi has proven to be very opportunistic and from what I gathered, India is industrialising and thus going to need all the trade and cooperation it can muster.
