We are closing in on the end of this Last Ronin wave. Today is Michelangelo.

This figure stands out because of the expression. It’s decisive. No BS. It really separates him from the cartoon versions. Like the Donnie and Leo figures, the amor add some bulk, but he has great shelf presence.

For the photographers here: Does anyone else struggle with the real chains? I love the feel, but I really wish NECA included a static “dynamic” chain or a spinning effect. It’s tough to sell an action pose when gravity pulls the chucks straight down.

This is a great shot. you got some great movement with your blurriness/smoke here. I used to a bit with stop motion and we’d either have armatures/ligatures i can’t remember the right term built into the figure or we’d get some help from fishing line

How cool! I’ve always wanted to get into stop motion, somebody recommended to use some fine wire to keep them in place, I’ll try the fishing line next time

the things for stop motion you want: a tripod and a button you can press that is separate from your camera to take your snapshots (so you don’t nudge the camera pressing the button, keeping your focus exactly where you want it). that’s all you need aside from a clear space to take your shots. you’ll also want but not need a light meter (i don’t know if light meter apps on your phone are accurate enough) so you can get good even shots, same brightness through the whole thing, but you’ve got the photography part down.

24 frames a second make motion to the eye and if you go up to 30 video game geeks get happy, and there are specific shapes the mouth makes for each word (there’s a dictionary for that if you’re trying to animate it). I’m trying to remember what else you might need in a 5 second infodump :3

i say go for it! with your photography skills i’m eager to see what you could do

Thanks for the info and the encouragement! I’ll definitely will find some time to experiment with stop motion, sounds like a lot of fun
