A 2-month-old baby, Juan Nicolás, who became gravely ill while detained at ICE’s South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, has been deported to Mexico along with his parents and 16-month-old sibling. That’s according to Texas Congressmember Joaquin Castro, who had demanded the baby’s release after news he had been rushed to the hospital on Monday. Baby Juan had reportedly been detained at Dilley for about a month. Univision reporter Lidia Terrazas had spoken to Juan’s mom, who told her the baby had suffered a health episode, choking on his own vomit. When he was taken to Dilley’s medical area, guards were told there was no doctor available inside the facility at that time.

This is what a democratic socialist thinks about open borders:

Its a tough thing, on one hand cheap labor that bypasses labor laws and creates a permanent underclass that rewards corporations with cheap labor and punishes tax paying citizens is obviously bad. But obviously deporting people who dont want to leave is a hard thing to do, and these people are worse off than someone in America would generally be. This is even harder if you live in an area with a housing shortage, and prices are rising faster than existing citizens can save.
Yeah well if humans could have just figured out how to all live as one on this thing and not divided from the very beginning, maybe the world would be a better place? Maybe we’d be one of those space faring species traveling to other worlds trying to save other species like us who’ve completely fucked themselves from the getgo. Yeah, fantasy, but we really did fuck up by being territorial blood thirsty animals from the start.
You’re saying you just want open borders and first world country to support the entire worlds needy people with first world care, or what’s the ask here?
Yes
But your taxes won’t go up at all to help pay for it I assume?
You literally missed the entire point and are exactly the issue at hand to which I speak.
