I tried multiple times to get his face right. Three hours of drawing and erasing. I couldn’t get it. Total failure. I’ll try again some other year. Hopefully before the cancer gets Bruce Campbell. But sometimes you don’t ink the drawing you want but the drawing you did.

All forms of criticism welcome.

The proportions are all traced from his actual face. I tried exaggerating things like his distinctive chin and larger forehead etc. I went straight up caricature proportions. Still failed. Went back to real proportions.
This looks like it’s from the newer “Ash vs Evil Dead”, so part of the issue is that he looks “less like himself” to people who’d recognise him from the films in the 1980s and early 90s - he’s 25-30 years older, so his distinctive chin etc just isn’t that distinctive in the source photo.
The reference source is definitely '80s, not modern
Weird, it looks almost exactly like this inage from the new one:
Though it wouldn’t surprise me if they’ve reused the same pose from an earlier film though - anyway, my point was the facial features seemed to match the older Ash quite well, compared to his very narrow face and square jaw in the 80s.
Totally reused because he didn’t look like that at the time it came out.
