The Homeland Security secretary was supposed to be an easier impeachment target for Republicans. But after months of work, they still don't have the votes.
The articles I’ve read lately involving the Republican House suggest the GOP is close to an all out internal war. Moderates in vulnerable districts are losing their patience with the far right. They may not be able to pull together the votes for the agriculture bill, which would be disastrous considering how many of their districts rely on it. They already know they’ll need Democrat votes, and they know they aren’t going to get them with the far right being obstinate.
We’ll have to see if they pull things together, but if they don’t manage to pass that bill, I think we’re in for a delicious clown show. McCarthy is already downplaying the issues, just like he did before he fell one vote short of Speaker.
