They are the biggest actors in the EU hands down. Makes sense that other countries simplify the dozens of nations, I live in the EU and couldn’t name them all without looking it up.
We don’t think of Wisconsin or Ohio either when someone says america, we most likely think of stereotypical New York, California or Texas.
