The corporations begging for cheap subservient labor are owned by the rich. The rich own all the real estate as well which is in huge demand after we tripled immigration the last few years. In what world is getting rid of the people they brought in to lower wage pressure after an inflationary event good for the rich?

Because you are falling for the same stupid lie that the rich have always told in order to retain their power. They say “We need to kick the foreigners/people we treat like shit out so we can treat you better!” and you nod your head like a silly sheep.

It always has and always will be a bullshit lie.

The rich don’t want the illegal labor gone, they want it to be more highly illegal so the leverage their workers have to advocate for humane working conditions is reduced.

Stop carrying water for people who want to crush you to pieces.

I actually look at reports by the Bank of Canada that state how wage pressure was alleviated via immigration. I dont take Fox News as gospel.

Explain to me mechanically how flooding the market with labor doesnt depress wage pressure, I’d be curious how you think it works. Do jobs just spring up, despite the fact the infrastructure clearly doesnt exist to even house these people much less create new export markets?

If I understand supersquirrel’s comment correctly, they’re not saying that it doesn’t depress wages. They’re saying that making the presence of these workers illegal after bringing them in will cause wages to drop even further.

Oh jeez that is tragic, damn, it is too bad that Canada is probably the most land starved nation on earth. No space. Nope, sorry all fullllllllll up there!

It also sucks that you can’t let any more immigrants in because when you have a problem as a nation and you pool more enterprising minds together to solve it actually it gets harder to solve because more new helpful people undermine the other helpful people, that is how people work. This is a serious cult I am part of and it is very scientific okay?

Also, are you of indigenous descent?

The problem with Canada is the NIMBY and zoning laws that prevent density generally. Its slow to build, except in places like Alberta which are actually speeding things up. We have some of the highest housing prices globally and the most restrictive zoning laws.

As far as indigenous people I’m not sure your point, we were all born here and we all owe our standard of living to modern technology produced globally, as rent seekers in Canada attempt to pull up the ladder behind them. Is it a gate keeping comment of some kind, and are indigenous people not affected by housing shortages?

No, your clearly biased and don’t understand the nuances of foreigners workers.

many of these so called professional often don’t take into account the many paths these people can take and the fact that the supposed growth is actually just false bloat thanks to undercutting local labor,

        • They can send money home, not spending it here.

        • They can choose to retire back home, not retire here and spend the money they made here.

        • As cruel as it may sound, they can bring dependents here, family that may need medicine they weren’t getting back home, if they’re old or can’t work, thats a money sink (admittedly I don’t really like bringing this up for obvious reason but its something to note)

        • are they working with union here, are they supporting those institution that moderate corporations.

and these are just the points I can name off the top of my head for legal immigrants, illegals won’t even pay into tax cuz often they’re working under the table among other possible negatives we can’t account for involving potential crime.

we don’t say this because we hate brown people or some shit, we say this because if we cant even take care of our own fully fledged citizens, why would we be taking in refuges. 50% of canadian don’t even have a doctor to see for god sake.

its hard being nice to everyone, its damn near impossible when your a national leader.
