Remember in the 90’s where all movies were about people trying to escape their mundane life? Fight club, the matrix, office space. There was very little going on for most people.
Yup had my puberty in the 90s. I don’t yearn back to those days, but geopolitically, very much so.
All three of those examples were released in '99, the last year of he 90s. This doesn’t invalidate your point, it’s just interesting.
