I had to have a tendon reattached, and that means cutting the skin to get to it. The problem is that as the skin heals, it attaches to the tendon very easily. The surgeon has to cut your skin in a Z-shape to lessen the amount of scar tissue along the tendon’s path. Even then, the little bit that does tries to latch on.
So you have to constantly work at it to get it to loosen, and let the tendon glide. That means moving it, vibrating it, pulling it. It sucks. It hurts. For years. But the alternative is to freeze that joint and limit your range for the rest of your life.
