You’re assigning order to chaos, the same reason every early civilization had a “lightning god”. Our brains want an explanation, so we invent them to explain chaos. Even when the explanation is clearly not matching up to reality. Reality is a lot worse than just trump doing whatever Putin asks. It’s less “puppet” and more multi-player QWOP where random people each have a single button.
