This isn’t a dig at France it is a dig at large defense companies but are we really surprised?
I mean, yeah it is to me. We’re not seeing Safran providing munitions to Russia, nor have I seen any Rafale fighters dropping glide bombs on UA positions for obvious reasons. I guess I just expected that to extend to communications technology too.
Yeah because by and large most people in France would be pissed as hell about that.
What I am saying is there are shitty corrupt business execs in France same as anywhere else. There are also shady networks of resellers who don’t ask uncomfortable questions like anywhere else.

I’m not understanding what you’re saying on this. If “most people in France would be pissed as hell about that” about munitions or jets, why aren’t they pissed at enabling Russian communications on the battlefield in Ukraine?

No doubt, but Eutelsat isn’t just some unleashed private equity defense company, it has a nearly 11% stake of ownership by the government of the UK and another 25% -ish percent bondholdings of French government state bank. source
Starlink, by comparison, is 100% privately owned yet they’ve taken steps to limit Russian military use in Ukraine.
