Americans getting caught accidently bringing guns into foreign countries is common enough it often doesn’t make the news. Presumably most people who show up in a country with minimum sentences for guns just ditch it in a river.
If they’re fleeing america they’re not American anymore. We still call them American as a way to acknowledge where they are from, they’re our friends and family in the place they end up.
This is why I only interact with Americans online. 🙃

I was just being silly. They can’t get their guns into my country and Americans with passports are usually chill so I don’t mind them at all IRL. ✌️
