Socialism is communal ownership of the means of production. Instead of oligarchs owning everything, we all own everything. Instead of the profits of your labor being siphoned off by the rich, you get to keep them. Instead of an endless rat race to survive while the elites amass more and more wealth while killing the planet, our needs are taken care of while respecting the sustainable limits of nature.
what profits of my labor? i don’t produce anything
Instead of an endless rat race to survive while the elites amass more and more wealth while killing the planet, our needs are taken care of while respecting the sustainable limits of nature.
i can agree with that
according to maslow’s pyramid, needs are more fundamental than labor, thus it should be taken care of sooner. therefore, needs being taken care of cannot be dependent on labor, but only the other way around.
And the cure is socialism.
idk anymore what “socialism” means. anybody care to enlighten me?

what is ownership anyways? what does it entail

“From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs.”
A socialist system would guarantee your fundamental needs, while expecting you to contribute back to society in whatever way you are best able to.
Ownership means the power to make decisions regarding how an enterprise operates, including how and where the profits are directed.
Day caregivers should own and operate daycares. Nursing aids (and nurses and support staff) should own and operate nursing homes.
Auto shops should be owned by mechanics. Grocery stores should be run by grocers.
Workplaces should be owned by the people that work in them. Worker owned co-ops.
what if i’m unemployed?
Then in a socialist system you would have the opportunity to join an in-demand field.
what’s an in-demand field today?
Child care and elder care seem to be in demand.
