    There are couple of problems with EVs:

    • they lack any aesthetic (at least vast majority), they look like a toy or a modern appliance, plastic and cheap
    • they feel like ‘go from A to B’, soul-less
    • they have a constant uplink to a cloud with telemetry of my every move and every fart with no option to opt-out
    • no fucking physical buttons (some of them are just now pulling they head out their asses and reverting the design choice)
    • expensive, paying premium price for cheap feel
    • we don’t really know how (un)reliable they are (there are a lot of new brands and new models)
    • infrastructure not ready in a lot of countries, and if you’re living in an apartment building without a parking garage or charger nearby you’re fucked

    Other than that, yeah, they might be superior to an ICE cars.

    Ps. I wouldn’t be caught dead in Tesla. Fuck Mussk

      I drive an EV for work, haven’t got enough charging facilities there so I fast charge it at a local supermarket. Takes about an hour, I get to have a break and a cup of tea. It’s an iveco, they’re pretty unreliable but I’ve heard good things about other manufacturers. And it drives lovely. I do like having an ice in my car, and will for a long time as electrics are way more than I can afford.

        Unfortunately true.

        But if the EVs are the future they should be a positive trend setter instead they are the reason it went the other way. I feel we took a giant leap backwards with all the LCDs, cheap panels, cheap plastics, lack of design, etc… EVs did it to minimise the cost and the rest just followed. Prices did not go down. I call that enshittification.

        “Nobody wants to buy our cars anymore”… yeah, no shit… And what they do? Make them even more shitty and cheap…

        Just look at the fucking Ferrari… I owned Fiat that looks better than that.

          I’m just glad the trend of designing electric cars to look like toys is mostly gone. Finally they look like regular cars

      It sounds like you have never experienced an EV. Or even seen one.

      Rivian makes some of the most unique looking vehicles on the road.

      EVs have more storage, especially isolated compartmenta for dirty or wet things, etc

      Have you ever seen a lucid do smoky tire donuts?

      Have you ever ridden in a PLAID?

      Your points are pretty weak
